Capgras Syndrome

Capgras syndrome is a rare disorder resulting from specific forms of brain damage.

A person afflicted with the Capgras disorder recognizes the people in his or her world but denies that they are who they appear to be. Instead the person insists, these familiar individuals are well-disguised impostors.

Damage to amygdala is considered to be the cause of Capgras Syndrome.
